The Aylesbury Estate was built in the 1960’s and 1970’s and originally contained over 2,500 residential units, a health centre, nursery, and day centre.

The Estate is a large housing estate in Walworth, Southwark. The Council identified the Estate for regeneration in 2005, and confirmed this through its planning policy document, the Aylesbury Area Action Plan (2010).

The council, along with L&Q completed the first phase of the regeneration in 2013, with a second site completing in 2017. The Council has now appointed a development partner, Notting Hill Housing Trust, to work with the council to take forward the continued regeneration of the area over the next 20 years and across four further phases.

Carter Jonas has been involved with the latest phases of the project by carrying out valuations of privately owned properties within the estate with a view of negotiating the properties purchase in advance of a compulsory purchase order.

The regeneration of the estate is expected to take 20 years to complete and will include nearly 4,000 new high-quality homes for existing and new residents. Half of these will be affordable homes, with 75% of those being available at social rents.
