Carter Jonas has completed the sale of three residential development sites in Yorkshire to Mulgrave Homes. As well as promoting the sites for sale on behalf of the landowners, Carter Jonas secured planning permission for residential development on each of the sites and are now in discussions with Mulgrave Homes to sell the completed units on their behalf.
Towton Avenue in York is 1.65-acre (0.67 hectare) site that was formerly used as a school playing field by The Mount School, but was surplus to requirements. Carter Jonas marketed the development opportunity on behalf of The Mount School and selected a Joint Venture between Mulgrave Homes & Helmsley Group as the preferred developer. Carter Jonas planning team then secured planning permission on behalf of the developer for 12 executive residences, which are within walking distance of York Racecourse and only half a mile from York Railway Station.Carter Jonas secured the allocation of a development site at Whinney Lane within Harrogate for the landowner. Following a competitive bidding process, Mulgrave Homes was selected as the development partner for the 5.17-acre (2.09 hectare) site. Mulgrave Homes then instructed Carter Jonas planning team who secured planning permission for 40 residential dwellings. The site is approximately two miles from Harrogate town centre with Rossett Acre Primary School, Rossett Acre School and Ashville College within walking distance.
At High Mill Farm, Carter Jonas selected KCS as the strategic land promoter for the 3.25-acre (1.32 hectare) site on behalf of the landowner. The team secured planning permission for 25 homes before taking the site through an open market tender process, which was won by Mulgrave Homes. Located in the village of Markington, the site is six miles north of Harrogate and five miles south of Ripon. The characterful village has a good range of amenities including a primary school rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, a pub-restaurant and a village shop with post office.
Steven Soper, Senior Surveyor, Carter Jonas, said: “All three sites have the right characteristics to prove popular with buyers and meet the demand for well-located homes in and around two major Yorkshire employment hubs. Mulgrave Homes are a well-respected local developer and will deliver high-quality, well-appointed homes that are sensitive to their surrounds. Our residential sales colleagues in Harrogate and York are now assisting Mulgrave Homes with securing buyers for this future collection of fantastic properties.”
