Updated 03/02/2025

We are excited to share the latest updates from the world of Carter Jonas.

As the previous year came to an end, we celebrated some incredible achievements from across our business, including 25 well-deserved promotions from within our teams and a remarkable 88% pass rate for our recent RICS APC-qualified surveyors. A special mention also went to our long-serving colleagues, who were recognised by the Partnership for their dedication during their 10- and 30-year careers at Carter Jonas.

At the start of this year, we announced our financial performance for the year ending April 30, 2024, reporting a turnover of £85.74 million, an increase from £84.38 million last year. Our Chief Executive, Richard Bruce, attributed this success to the effectiveness of our business strategy and the unwavering commitment of our teams in delivering exceptional service to our clients. He added that our teams remain inspired by the innovations in our industry, as well as the projects and clients we engage with. With a solid foundation in place, we are focusing on our business strengths and looking ahead to the next stage of our growth with a new five-year business strategy.

Most recently, we announced that starting in May, Alexandra Houghton will lead the Commercial team, succeeding Scott Harkness, who will take on the role of Head of Transactions. Additionally, Richard Love, our current Head of Building Consultancy, will take on the newly created position of Head of Consultancy, continuing to oversee our building consultancy services and expanding our offerings in commercial valuations, property management, and consultancy strategies.

Looking ahead, we are gearing up for the launch of our new growth strategy, Vision 2030, during a firmwide collaboration day in March. More of which to follow!

Race Equality Week 2025

From 3–9 February 2025, Carter Jonas will be marking Race Equality Week. The week is an annual UK-wide movement uniting hundreds of organisations and individuals to address the barriers to race equality in the workplace.

This year, the focus is on #everyactioncounts, highlighting every small step taken is like sowing the seeds for change – whether big or small. During the week, we will be sharing short snippets each day for people to learn more and complete the 5-day challenge. We hope many of our people will be able to join in and takeaway useful information from the week.

National Apprenticeship Week 2025

National Apprenticeship Week will take place from 10–16 February 2025. At Carter Jonas, we’re excited to show our full support by celebrating both our apprenticeship programmes and our apprentices. Throughout the week, we will highlight the benefits apprenticeships bring to our business and share a range of resources for anyone interested in starting an apprenticeship or welcoming an apprentice to their team.

Each day will focus on a specific theme aligned with National Apprenticeship Week:

Monday: Skills for Life
Showcasing how apprenticeships equip individuals with valuable, transferable skills for their ongoing professional and personal development and how the workplace can offer learning opportunities that can’t be fully taught in a classroom. We will also be promoting our Apprenticeship Hub, where a wealth of information and guides can be found, and re-sharing the recording of our recent 20:20 webinar hosted by Carter Jonas Recruitment Manager, Emma Gardner, who discusses the range of apprenticeship options at Carter Jonas.

Tuesday: Employer Tuesday
Highlighting the wide variety of benefits apprentices bring to Carter Jonas.

Wednesday: Apprentice Wednesday
Featuring the stories and experiences of current Carter Jonas apprentices through case studies and interviews.

Thursday: Training Thursday
Exploring how apprenticeships can upskill our existing Carter Jonas employees.

  • An overview of how upskilling apprenticeships work
  • Details on the programmes we offer
  • A firmwide ‘Lunch & Learn’ session hosted by a guest speaker from one of our apprenticeship providers.

Friday: Celebration Friday & NAW Weekender
