National property consultancy Carter Jonas has promoted Jason Sharman to Head of Commercial Valuations, effective 1 January, further strengthening senior leadership within the firm’s Commercial division.
Jason brings over 25 years’ experience in commercial valuation, with a strong track record advising banks, pension funds and institutional clients on complex loan security and multi-property portfolio valuations. Having been a partner at Carter Jonas for the last six years, his experience spans a broad range of asset classes and markets across the UK, including the valuation of large office and mixed-use buildings and portfolios. Prior to joining Carter Jonas, Jason held senior valuation roles at Cushman & Wakefield and Deloitte and brings extensive experience in Central London and the West End alongside significant valuation expertise across regional markets, particularly where properties offer change-of-use potential.
Jason’s promotion marks another important step in advancing Carter Jonas’s Vision 2030 strategy, underlining the firm’s commitment to investing in talent and growth. As the firm continues to expand its Commercial offering and take on increasingly complex instructions, Commercial Valuations plays a critical role in supporting confident decision-making across industrial, office and retail sectors as well as residential property including affordable housing. Jason’s leadership reflects Carter Jonas’s continued investment in senior capability as it builds momentum and extends its national footprint.
As part of his remit, Jason will lead the Commercial Valuations team, drawing on his detailed understanding of the team and the wider business to support the continued development of people, capability and client relationships.
Alexandra Houghton, Head of Commercial at Carter Jonas, said: “Jason’s appointment comes at a pivotal point for our Commercial division as we sharpen our focus on delivering consistent, high-quality advice for clients across the UK. He brings an excellent combination of technical expertise, trusted client relationships and a depth of experience that will be instrumental in supporting the continued development of our Commercial Valuations capability. I am confident Jason will provide the steady and thoughtful leadership required as the team continues to evolve, and I am delighted to welcome him into this role as we progress our Vision 2030 strategy.”
Carter Jonas also thanks Richard Meeson for his stewardship of the Commercial Valuations team during his time as Interim Head, during which the team continued to perform strongly and deliver consistently for clients.
Commenting on his appointment Jason Sharman said: “I am pleased to be taking on the role of Head of Commercial Valuations as Carter Jonas continues to evolve its Commercial offering under Vision 2030. I am looking forward to leading the Valuations team, building on its strong foundations and continuing to develop our people and capability. Working closely with colleagues, my focus will be on delivering high-quality, consistent valuation advice that supports clients’ decision-making across an increasingly complex commercial environment.”
