Our professionals helped to secure a resolution to grant full planning consent on behalf of Barratt London and the Hyde Group (a joint venture known as Harrow View LLP) for 474 new homes, 649 sqm of community space and 456 sqm of retail at Plots B1 and C1 of Eastman Village in Harrow. 

Located on the former Kodak factory site, Eastman Village is set within the Harrow & Wealdstone Opportunity Area and the Heart of Harrow Housing Zone. In December 2018, we helped secure reserved matters permission on the two plots for 350 new homes along with community and leisure uses. Following a design review of the site undertaken by Pollard Thomas Edwards, the project architect, it was concluded that the plots were capable of delivering further dwellings. The increase of 124 new homes ensures that housing delivery on this brownfield site is optimised, as encouraged in the new London Plan.

The mixed-use scheme will continue to comprise a variety of tenures to support the needs of the local community, and in this phase, 40% of new homes will be affordable. The two plots will be linked by, and will benefit from, an extensive Green Link which includes a series of carefully designed tailored public spaces and areas of playspace. The application will now be referred to the Greater London Authority for the Mayor’s Stage 2 review, if this is successful, planning permission will be subsequently granted when a Section 106 legal agreement has been completed with the London Borough of Harrow.
