Carter Jonas property consultancy has been appointed by Kew Gardens to let some houses on their estate in Richmond, London.  The properties have been prepared for private lets by the world-renowned horticultural organisation in order to generate some additional income to maintain the UNESCO World Heritage Site and fund their vital science and conservation work.

Carter Jonas has just launched to the lettings market a three bedroom detached property on the estate, which has recently been renovated to a very high standard. Lion Gate Lodge is located at the Lion Gate entrance to Kew Gardens and enjoys stunning views over the gardens, as well as an adjoining cricket pitch, which is home to Richmond Cricket Club.

As well as having its own private garden, tenants will be granted free access to Kew Gardens all year round. The property is available to the public for a minimum tenancy of one year through Carter Jonas at a rental price of £4,200 per calendar month.

The availability of Lion Gate Lodge forms part of the new initiative by Kew Gardens to generate greater income for their estate. Many of the properties selected for this scheme had been disused in recent years and required full renovation to convert them into desirable homes. Carter Jonas has been chosen by Kew Gardens as the managing agent for their now growing portfolio of private rental properties. The first property to be let was leased to a group of Kew staff, who were given first priority and who will enjoy the benefit of living conveniently close to their place of work.

Lion Gate Lodge is a Victorian, Grade II listed property which originally provided housing for Kew staff in the late nineteenth century. The property, located on Kew Road, had been disused in recent years and has now been newly refurbished to offer a high standard of living for prospective tenants. Brand new interiors have been installed, including a Neptune kitchen, a Villeroy & Boch bathroom, new flooring throughout and Farrow & Ball interior paints have been used.
