James works within the firm's Rural Division and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) and a member of the Society for the Environment (CEnv.) James has a broad range of experience and has worked in Yorkshire for over 20 Years.James specialises in Rural Estate Management, Landlord and Tenant advice, Town and Country Planning, Property Valuation, Renewable Energy Schemes, Farm Subsidies and Compulsory Purchase Compensation
Mark heads up the Rural team for the East, focusing on rural agency, professional and estate management instructions. Mark also leads on Natural Capital, currently focusing on BNG and Carbon Capture advice. He has over 25 years of rural property experience involving the management of rural estates, sale and purchase of farmland and valuations.
Nicola is a Rural Chartered Surveyor, Agricultural valuer and AMC Agent based in Taunton office covering the south west. She is also a RICS registered valuer.She undertakes a range of professional work from estate management, rural planning, compulsory purchase and compensation and valuations for a variety of purposes. A farmer's daughter and wife, Nicola has strong links with the agricultural community.
Chris Turner is a Rural Partner for Carter Jonas based in the Winchester office. Chris has 15 years qualified experience working with rural estates and private clients across the South East. Chris' principle work involves valuations, estate management, landlord and tenant work and general professional advice to rural landowners, managers and tenants.

Natural England have launched four new Countryside Stewardship offers. Previously criticised for its complexity, the offers have been simplified to support wildlife and are divided into the following categories:

  • Arable Offer
  • Lower Grazing Offer
  • Mixed Farming Offer
  • Upland Offer

These Offers have been designed to deliver a sufficient level of environmental benefits so that scoring is not required. This means, provided the applicant meets the minimum criteria, an agreement offer will be made, unlike the Mid-Tier and Higher-Tier schemes which are competitive.

The scheme will last 5 years from the Agreement Start Date.

The applications closes on 31st July and application packs must be requested before 31st May 2018.
