Carter Jonas has completed the design and conversion of a new headquarters totalling approximately 19,500 sq ft for Roper Rhodes on Brassmill Lane Trading Estate in Bath.
Responsible for project management, Carter Jonas’ South West Building Consultancy team ensured the high-quality office accommodation and warehousing were delivered within budget – with inputs including producing the initial feasibility report into converting an existing cluster of buildings, as well as obtaining planning permission for a wider scheme of changes.Roper Rhodes, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of bathroom furniture, commissioned Carter Jonas to design a new headquarters accommodating business expansion, with increasing operational efficiency and promoting the performance and productivity of employees as priorities.
Fitted with 15 KW photovoltaic panels to the roof, Roper Rhodes benefits from background power day-in, day-out. Underscoring the occupier’s commitment to sustainability, recycled materials are incorporated at every opportunity. In addition, LED lighting has been installed.
Environmentally friendly without compromise on aesthetics, the exterior is clad in a contemporary black ceramic material created with insulated rendering. Internally, the design has an industrial look and feel with exposed structures and services – taking cues from the surrounding factories and warehouses on the trading estate.
